Source for greenwood in East Anglia

Postby davestovell » Thu Jan 21, 2016 6:03 pm

I made contact this week with an Arborist and tree surgeon who supplied me with some walnut, yew and cherry. During our conversation is became obvious that it pains him to chip and burn such fantastic wood and would be happy to supply to greenwood workers in the area. Its a shame that just before Christmas he chopped up some large elm which from his description might have been good for chair seats. He said that if anyone wanted something in particular, given some notice (a month or so) he would be happy to source it if he could.

I got some large logs at £5 each but what was refreshing was his enthusiasm.

If anyone in the North Essex/Suffolk border area is after any wood his name is Steve Williams from Hawkes Tree Services Ltd in Great Yeldham, and can be contacted on Tel:01787 388450 Mob:07712305385 email:
