Dialect words for Billhook

Postby Billman » Thu Dec 31, 2015 2:57 pm

My daughter bought me a copy of the 2014 softback reprint of the Survey of English Dialects (SED) - one of the reasons she bought it is my interest in billhooks, and this is one of the words in the Dictionary - I have created a PDF file of the words - but each time I think I've finished it someone comes up with a word not in the SED, e.g. Brummock (Broom-hook) as used in Salop and Staffs...

Are there any more words out there that I've not recorded???

Here's the link to my website (v1): http://billhooks.co.uk/definition/diale ... lhook-new/

I've tried to upload the latest (v3) file to this site, but it's not possible...
